bring down housing costs
Rising housing costs are driving higher prices across the board and I’m ready to help fix it. I’m one of a few legislators in state history who have actually built housing for working & middle-class families. I know the hurdles our state housing crisis faces and ready to offer solutions. I’ll work to cut red tape, build more homes, invest in affordable housing and crack down on Wall Street investors.
Expand childcare
The lack of affordable childcare are putting pressure on too many pocketbooks and forcing people who want to work to stay home. Not having enough options is estimated to be costing our state’s economy $2.88 billion a year. Let’s expand childcare that's reliable, high-quality and affordable so we can grow our local economy and build strong communities.
Stronger public schools & job training
Our economic future is tied to our most precious natural resource: our kids. We need a talent pipeline that goes from the cradle to career. That’s why I want to protect universal pre-K and free school meals while refocusing our efforts to improve literacy and expand job training.
Cheaper, Cleaner energy
Utility bills are skyrocketing, but we have solutions to rein them in. We need to make the transition to cheaper, cleaner energy like wind, solar and battery storage while improving our grid to prevent blackouts. Let’s make it easier for homeowners and small businesses to save on their energy bills by locally sourcing their own clean energy.
Affordable healthcare
Too many people are struggling to afford the care they need, whether it’s because corporations are jacking up the cost of medicines or because President Trump and Congress gutted affordable healthcare to give the rich another tax damn tax cut they don’t need. In Lansing, I’ll fight back against prescription drug price gouging and federal cuts to affordable healthcare.
